Next year I'm totally doing Bike the Drive. It's been decided.
Anyway, where to start? I watched "The Village" on Friday night. Really. Good. Movie. M. Night Shyamalan is awesome. I loved how he made red an aversive color in this movie, similar to what he did in "The Sixth Sense". Using yellow as the village's "safe color" was also interesting, in my opinion. The obvious reason would be that we associate the color yellow with caution, or that it can easily stand out. I also think that a softer, cooler, calmer color such as a green or a blue would have been just as effective as a "safe color", and still would have stood out as much as the yellow did because all the other colors in the movie were very drab. James Newton Howard's score was also amazing. The eerie melodies were deliciously eerie, and others were absolutely gorgeous. Major props to him. Overall, it was a real thought provoker. When I reached the end, (don't worry, this is not a spoiler!!) I had the feeling that the villagers weren't much better than what they ran away from. Well, the village elders, anyway, considering what they do.
I watched a debate between Governor Rod Blagojevich and Judy Baar Topinka this morning on NBC's "City Desk". Oh man. My favorite part had to be when they were talking about education and Judy Baar Topkina managed to talk in enough circles to avoid describing her education plan. She basically said nothing. It was very general, nothing specific at all. So what does that say? Anyway, I always find political debates to be very interesting. Especially when the candidates immaturely interrupt each other. I do get some amusement out of that.
Unrelated side note: my dog is making little barking noises in his sleep. It's rather cute.
I just made some pumpkin-orange muffins for tomorrow's breakfast. They look good, smell pretty yummy, so let's hope their taste reflects that.
The past few days have been filled with cooking random things, walking Titan, and doing lots of Tae-bo. Might do some pilates later tonight too. Also been getting ready for my grad party next Saturday. We got pretty much everything done.
Alrighty. I think that's enough for now. I have the feeling that I forgot to mention something I had planned to, but have no idea what it is. lol
