I went to a dance show last night, and as usual, when it was over I had this urge to become a ballerina. lol I can only wish to be that graceful. The performers were members of the Joffrey, the River North Dance Company, and the Dutch National Ballet. All the pieces were very good, but my favorite was a duet that used one of the most gorgeous pieces of music I've ever heard--"Adagio in G Minor for Organ and Strings", by Tomasso Albinoni. So beautiful. The female ballerina in this piece was wearing a dress with a very flowy skirt that really added a lot of effect, and the lifts (especially how she got out of the lifts) were amazing. Also very beautiful. I love watching dance, ballet especially. There's just so much a dancer can do with it in the way of emotion and expression (not to say that other forms of dance don't do the same thing, but ballet, I think, does it best).
Today my family and I wandered around the River North/Gold Coast art fair. There were a ton of very cool things there, including some awesome photography. I saw some stuff I would have liked to buy, but even the smaller prints were sort of pricey, so I didn't get anything. But I really enjoyed seeing the work that these artists had to offer, because a lot of it was very good.
So. I had a nice, artsy weekend. lol Back to work tomorrow.
