Back to classes on Wednesday. Whoo.

Annie and I saw "Happy Feet" last weekend, and it was quite cute. Nothing beats singing and dancing penguins. Well...except for "Shrek". Sorry, penguins.

I got to hang out with Miriam a little before she went back to school. Had lunch at Grapevine and then chilled at Caribou for a while. Ran into Kate over there too, for a few seconds. Good times.

I've been watching the first seasons of HBO's "Deadwood" and "Rome". Both are quite entertaining, but I think I like "Rome" better. I've always had more of an interest in ancient Rome than in the Old West, but so far both shows are pretty good.

Almost done reading "Death in the Haymarket", which is something I should have read in my Chicago history class, but alas, was not on the book list. It takes me a while to read non-fiction, even if the book is great, so yeah...I've been on this one for a few weeks now. lol I'm quite enjoying it, as it gives a ton of information about what happened in the years before the Haymarket Riot so once I'm done with the book I should have a much more detailed understanding of everything than I did when I finished the history class. (In which, of course, we covered a ton of material, so I know the basics about the riot and that's pretty much it.) Anyway...I'd recommend it to any history freak out there. A very good read.

Other reading...I picked up "Flesh and Blood" by Michael Cunningham from the library, but haven't started it yet. I also picked up the first two books in Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events", just for fun. I've finished the first one, "The Bad Beginning", and really liked it. Haven't yet gotten to the next one, but I'm eager to do so. I'm also curious about the movie they made recently...I'll have to check that out too. But the rest of the series will hopefully be as dark and funny as the first one.

I joined a gym, too! Whoo! Unfortunately, I've been kind of sick the past few days, so I've only been there about four times. lol But I like it. Basic cardio stuff and weight machines, which was all I was looking for at the time. Well...really just the cardio...I don't like lifting weights by myself...someone has to come with me. lol I don't know why, I just do.

Okay. Gonna practice a little, then it's Gino's East for pizza. :-)

Toodles!
