greetings

Awesome, awesome weekend. Had a sort of mini high school reunion with a group of friends, which included dinner at Grand Lux Cafe (very yummy), and a trip to Pops for Champagne, which proved to be very swanky and cool. (I recommend the Framboise.) It was really great to catch up with people I haven't seen in a while (several years, in one instance) and talk about what we're all doing now and reminisce about high school. (Which seems so frickin long ago!)

I also went to the Field Museum with Annie today, too see some new exhibits, both of which were quite impressive. One was a temporary dinosaur exhibit, and here I admit my nerdiness of never quite growing out of the "dinosaur phase" that practically all little kids go through. hehe They had a lot of interesting information on how dinosaurs are studied now, and a lot of very cool fossils, including skulls of a good number of horned dinosaurs, which have always been my favorite. The kid in me was very excited. We also checked out the new Ancient Americas exhibit, which is permanent, and is attached to the previously existing Native American exhibit. Also very cool. They focused on several specific cultures and had a ton of amazing artifacts, and I found myself wishing I remembered more from my World Archeology class from freshman year of college. We then wandered the museum a little more and then got some gelato from Caffe Baci before heading back to the train. A very fun day. I also got a student discount on museum admission, so that was cool too. hehe

Been reading Jane Austen's "Persuasion", which I'm really getting into now, and I also watched the A&E "Pride and Prejudice" this weekend, and am wishing I could be more like Elizabeth Bennet more than ever.

Anyway. I should be off to bed, considering I have to go to work in the morning. Ciao ciao!
