Black Swan

Thursday night some friends and I went to see Black Swan. Wow. I really liked it. First of all, as I've probably mentioned in other posts, I absolutely love ballet, and Swan Lake happens to be my favorite, so that was enough to get me to see this movie. Visually, I thought it was beautiful. Not just the dancing scenes, of course, but also the color palette, which used a lot of whites, creams, and light pinks. The music was gorgeous too, (duh), as it was all parts of Swan Lake. (Tchaikovsky wrote such wonderful ballet music...) The film also paralleled the story of the ballet to an extent, which was clever. What really draws you in, however, is how psychological it is. Certain parts can really mess with your head, and therefore only gets you more involved and anxious to find out what comes next. See the trailer below. : )
