*happy dance*

I am indeed doing a major happy dance. (Well, not at this precise moment, but I did the other night. lol) I finished the first draft of my book!! I'm so excited...lots of editing to do though...word choice, more details, etc. But the story itself is there. Whoo!

I saw "The Devil Wears Prada" with Annie a few days ago...it was fun, thoroughly enjoyable, and I don't regret spending $7 to see it. I'm sure I'll read the book at some point. I figure I've seen the movie, I might as well read the book too. (And I have a feeling it won't exactly be a difficult read. ;-))

Started reading "Mrs. Dalloway" by Virginia Woolf and am liking it very much. The amount of detail she uses to describe the most mundane, everyday things is amazing. And something I learned about this book (from Jeopardy, too!) is that Virginia Woolf almost called "Mrs. Dalloway" "The Hours"...which explains the title of that book. lol

Had some really good pizza and spinach-artichoke dip with Dave at Pizano's yesterday. We decided that whoever invented spinach-artichoke dip is a freakin genius. lol We sat outside, despite the threat of rain, which deterred us from attending that night's concert at Millenium Park. It drizzled a bit, but nothing much. We then wandered to Millenium Park and caught the very end of the concert, which was "Carmina Burana", and not Bruckner's 7th Symphony, as I had originally thought. (Bruckner is NEXT Wednesday...oops!) Got Kaluha mocha drinks from Borders, wandered back to the park, where there was another concert going on, for the Gay Games, and then I caught the train home.

Random side note: Currently listening to "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes, which is also my ringtone, so every time they sing the chorus, I think my phone is ringing. *shakes head*

It's been raining quite a bit here lately, and I am thoroughly enjoying it, except that mixed with outrageous heat and humidity (mostly humidity as of late), it's not so cool. (And I'm one who, for the most part, ALWAYS loves it when it rains.) It was so dark when I got up this morning, and for some reason I like that. Rained on and off for a few hours. But very early, like around 5 am, I swear we were in the middle of a tornado. Well, not literally, but it was extremely windy and rainy, which made for quite a bit of noise. Kinda creepy sounding, actually, but very cool as well. I take pride in being a weather nerd. :-P
