Got back from a short family vacation to Michigan today. Good times. We went peach-picking, a first for all four of us, and came back with a whole bushel of peaches. I shall be making smoothies. hehe
Started reading "Specimen Days" by Michael Cunningham this week. I'm just over halfway done, and I love it. I wish I had an ounce of his talent. It's three separate but related stories, like "The Hours", but unlike "The Hours", each story is told separately from start to finish, instead of the chapters of the whole book alternating among the three. I can't wait to finish it. I may try to do so when I finish this post.
Annie and I saw "Thank You for Smoking" tonight. Frickin hilarious. Many laughs all around, focusing on a guy who is a lobbyist for the tobacco industry. I won't say too much, for fear of unintentionally writing a spoiler, so all I'll say is that it's worth a look.
Short entry. Oh yes. More violin music has come in the mail for me. Got plenty of things to practice now, since I don't know what's happening in the way of music at Loyola come fall semester, and I don't want to let myself get too rusty if it turns out that I don't end up playing in an ensemble. But I hope to find something. In the meantime, I now have lots of new music to keep me busy.
