To reference the previous post, entries are few and far between, indeed. That should change, as I am about done with my final paper for my library class, the last session of which is on Monday night. I really enjoyed the class and the projects involved, and am therefore very excited for continuing the program in the fall. (I'll be taking more core classes, rather than electives, but I'm still excited.)
Besides my own school schedule, summer school at work has been in session for two weeks, and is going rather well also. My second graders are adorable. Only four weeks left; it seems to be going by faster than last summer, probably because I knew what to expect this year.
My cousin's visit was fabulous. I love spending time with my family, and the past two weeks while he was here provided ample time for precisely that, and it was awesome. :-)
Tonight: BEETHOVEN'S 9TH!!! Finally! Although I haven't had as much time to practice as I usually do, I cannot wait until 8pm this evening for our performance. Our summer orchestra has a different dynamic than the symphony that plays the rest of the year (which is interesting because the summer group has the same conductor and most of the same musicians). Our big concert last summer was Orff's "Carmina Burana", which was a total blast to play and very well received by our audience. I hope to have the same result tonight!
And finally, before I depart for a bike ride (hopefully it's not too hot out there yet, but it's been scorching lately over here, so who knows how long I'll be out), I have an update on the status of my blogging activities. The "second" blog I've mentioned, that of essays, will take a backseat and be my third blog. The second is actually already posted...and is my pathfinder assignment for my class. Seeing as it's already been graded and my class ends on Monday, I feel I can now post the link and add to it. I did the pathfinder on Baroque music, and have since decided to continue it as a blog discussing books, recordings, performances, etc. of Baroque music that I experience, simply because I have such a high interest in it. Once I finish the Vivaldi book I've been reading, I shall be making a new post to that blog. Enjoy! :-)
