A little taste of Vienna

I will have several posts about last weekend, but they will be out of order. Not like it matters. ;-) Sunday afternoon some friends and I had brunch (though I think it was actually late enough to be called lunch) at Julius Meinl, an Austrian cafe with several Chicago locations. And yes, the original is actually in Vienna. This is definitely one of my favorite places in the city. They serve food until about 9pm, have AMAZING pastries, and live music on the weekends, usually a small jazz or classical ensemble. I know it sounds corny, but it does make me feel like I'm in Europe. : ) We started our meal on Sunday with coffee (served on a silver platter--well, not real silver, but the presentation is awesome!) and a chocolate croissant. I then tried their breakfast sandwhich, which was quiche-style egg, cheddar cheese, and bacon on a brioche bun. Yum.
A delicious little cookie comes with your coffee, and check out that adorable little creamer! I don't even use cream, but it's so cute!
