Wine and Cheese

Last night I had dinner with a friend of mine at the Marion Street Cheese Market in Oak Park. Part wine and cheese market (duh...but also features a selection of beer, chocolate truffles and specialty foods) and part charming little bistro, I think it's one of the best places in Oak Park. My friend and I each tried one of the "staff faves" for our wine selections (she had the red, I had the white), and those were delicious. We then shared a flight of cheeses from New York, and for my dinner I had their arancini, which were the perfect little size and so flavorful. It was busy but still relaxing, and as we ate a jazz trio was setting up, so we got to hear some good music before we left. All the cheeses on their menu are from the U.S., and they also sell some imported ones in the market area. Their selection of wine was pretty good too, and were all labels I hadn't heard of before, so I would like to go back and buy something. (And stay for dinner too!) Following are a picture of our cheese flight and my arancini. (The one in the back is a little squished...I ate half of it before remembering to take the picture...) ;-)
