Blizzard 2011!!

It's here! It started yesterday evening and continues now, and is going to continue for the better part of the day. This storm is ENORMOUS and the wind gusts have been ridiculous, creating snowdrifts several feet high. Here's a couple shots of my backyard that I took this morning...

The wind isn't as bad as it was last night, but everything is closed, and there is hardly anybody out. The coolest part of this storm, however, was definitely the thundersnow, which I had never heard of until now. I found a short article from ABC 7 about it, because it had been happening on the East Coast earlier this winter. I didn't see any of the lightning flashes, but I definitely heard the thunder.
