A Rabbit-Themed Meal

The title of this post does not indicate the consumption of rabbit, more like food may remind one of rabbits. Last night's dinner with friend's was at Karyn's Vegan Raw Gourmet. No one in our group is actually vegan (or vegetarian, as far as I know), but we tried the place anyway. (We had sort of a rabbit-theme going...rabbits eat raw food...thought obviously not what you'd find at a vegan restaurant.) I was a little wary at first, but everything was pretty good. We started with the cheese platter that offered four different flavors, all of which were rather yummy. For my dinner I tried the falafel, which was good as well, but I wasn't crazy about the pita that came with it. Dessert was vegan cinnamon ice cream served in a Granny Smith apple, and that was delicious. Keep in mind that I am a total carnivore and am more partial to bacon cheeseburgers and pepperoni pizza than, say, vegetables (but I do eat my veggies!!), but overall, I did like this place. It's also BYOB, which is nice, though they do offer a good selection of juices, which sounded good. As always, here are the consequent pictures...

After dinner we ventured over to The Suite Lounge, a swanky little club in Old Town. Keeping with our rabbit-theme, we ordered carrot cake martinis, which were DELICIOUS and have frosting around the rim of the glass. How cool is that? It's a fun place, and is "hoppin'" late into the night. : )

Check out that rim of icing!!
