First, let me applaud myself...I practiced violin again today!! lol Okay, so that's like the third time since I've been home from school, but still...I practiced!
Got the new National Geographic on Sunday, looking forward to reading that. There's pandas on the cover!!
Also reading "Straight Talking" by Jane Green, which, yes, is part of the "chick-lit" genre, but I do find those books to be fun and entertaining. So I read them. haha I've started "The Alchemist's Daughter" as well, which is higher on the literary ladder than the previous book mentioned. I find this one to be very interesting, though I'm only...well, less than 100 pages into it. Looking forward to the rest.
Evanston on Friday was tons of fun. Dave and I had a yummy dinner at a tapas restaurant, the name of which is eluding me, and then a walk by the lake. On the way up there I was on the train that stops at Ravinia, and the Ravinia crowd was quite, well, excited and perky, shall we say, probably due to their "pre-gaming" on the train. lol It amused me.
Sunday Dave and I went to the aquarium, and saw everything. We saw a number of feedings, due to our impeccable timing. Also made it to the dolphin show, all the new exhibits, and saw the cutest little garden eels that like to burrow into the sand and then poke their heads in and out. It kept me amused for several minutes. haha Ended the day with a yummy dinner. Tons of fun.
Yesterday we saw Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble at Millenium Park. I brought us dinner from Corner Bakery and tried to get up to the actual pavilion but there were so many people, I just gave up. lol So I ended up almost at the very back of the lawn, and by the time Dave got there, it was PACKED. Well, I should have known. I should have been there at 5 to get us some real seats. But I brought beach towels, so we didn't have to sit in the wet grass. Anyway...it was quite a good concert. They played a variety of types of music, including Indian, Chinese and Romanian. Good stuff. I love the Pritzker. lol After the concert we hung out for a while, and then went looking for the Java Java coffee shop, which I was so sure was on Monroe, but is actually on Madison, as I've just discovered, having looked it up. Which is something that would have been helpful yesterday. haha
So. The past few days have been most enjoyable.
I think I'll do some writing. Make myself productive. :-P
