The King's Speech

I finally saw The King's Speech, and it was fantastic! It is indeed worth several nominations. Colin Firth was amazing (well, the whole cast was, really) and it was very well done. It really captured the difficulty King George VI had with speaking so that you really feel for him and want him to overcome that struggle. It was emotional, charming, and funny (a winning combination for a film, in my opinion), so despite having to sit in the 3rd row and crane my neck to see the whole time, it was very enjoyable. : ) The end also featured a beautiful and clever use of the 2nd movement of Beethoven's 7th Symphony (which will eventually get its own post because it's gorgeous and I'll be playing it in March!) which both surprised and delighted me. It fit perfectly, and if you see the movie, I think you'll agree. Trailer below, as always:
