It was brunch time again on Sunday, at Eleven City Diner in the South Loop. Whoo! It's fun and casual, and feels like it came right out of the 40s. There are two levels (we got to sit upstairs, which felt super vintage!) and they play all sorts of great 40s jazz and swing music (go to their website for a taste). The menu is fabulous, and everything was delicious. They are supposed to be opening a sidewalk patio, too, but I'm not sure when. They are also open for lunch and dinner, and I would like to go back for those, but brunch was fabulous. Pictures:
In the foreground we have my Mexican scrambler, complete with eggs, chorizo, Jack cheese, scallions, and salsa on a crispy tortilla. Behind it is my friend's lox and latkes, which were also delightful. Then, of course, we had to get dessert...
GREEN RIVER FLOAT!!!!!! So yummy. (They also have bloody Marys and mimosas...)
Don't miss this place!!
